Isochrysis galbana is a premium microalgae highly regarded for its robust nutritional profile, particularly omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), namely DHA and EPA, as well as a protein content of 50-56%.

In addition to high levels of fucoxanthin and other natural carotenoids, the lack of a rigid cell wall offers an easily digestible diet for corals and filter feeders such as clams and crustaceans, while also providing antioxidant protection against oxidative stress. 

Isochrysis galbana's high levels of DHA and linoleic acid also play a crucial role in improving copepod fecundity by enhancing egg quality and boosting gametes production, which are vital for culturing healthy and sustainable copepod populations.
